What the 25 August update added
Heartopia’s 25 August update is out and Tidebell has caught up with it. The full list has every new item. Here’s what stood out.
New things to catch
There are 15 new creatures, and all of them belong to the new Echo of Ancients season, so you can only catch them from 29 August to 9 October. They come in families: five garfish (pale gold, brown, silver, black and golden), five hoopoes (orange, blue, green, red and colorful), three fireflies (purple-, grey- and pink-horned) and two rhinoceros beetles (brown and iridescent). Each one’s page has the weather and hours it needs.
In the kitchen and the garden
You get 33 new cooking recipes. Most of them are grilled meat pairings and prickly pear juices, with one juice for nearly every fruit in the game. There’s also a handful of ghost pumpkin desserts, which look a lot like October preparation. Prickly pear itself is a new crop, and the Wynberg conebush arrives as a new flower in ten colors.
Echo of Ancients is the game’s fourteenth season, and it comes with its own gacha.
Not playable yet
The update also lays the groundwork for a few features you can’t use yet:
- Tarot: 78 cards across two decks, six spreads (from a single card up to a body, mind and spirit reading), twelve questions and twelve fortune-teller tags.
- Hot air balloons: a ride in two stages with eggs hidden along the way. Two achievements already point to it: Heart Set on the Sky for earning all of its titles and Ride the Wind for finding every egg.
- Selfies: six poses and eight expressions.
- A barber shop: a whole furniture set of chairs, styling stations, perm machines and wall aprons.
- Smaller bits: an encore battle pass with 60 reward tiers, a weekly check-in, build contest topics and new behaviors for cats, dogs and other animals.
Renamed items
Ten items got new names. Sea Bunny Succulent Figurine is now Sea Hare Succulent Ornament, Call of Whales Melody is now Whale Encounter, and most of the “Pearl Shell” furniture is now “Pearl Oyster”.
