How to Clean the Ocean

Equip the ocean cleaner from your toolbox, aim at a pollutant, and you're ready to start cleaning. Hold down the clean button until the pollutant is fully absorbed. Once it's cleared, you'll collect some seashells.
If the crosshair turns red while you're cleaning, ease off for a moment. Once it goes back to normal, you can continue.
Besides regular pollutants, the canyon has other types. For example, those with glowing cracks are cracked pollutants. When removed, they break into smaller regular pollutants that still need cleaning.
Then there are hard‑shell pollutants—these are tougher and require multiple passes to clear. Some cracked pollutants are also encased in a shell, forming hard‑shell cracked pollutants. You'll need to break the shell first, then clean up the smaller pieces.
And then there are swirling pollutants. They're wrapped in unstable energy—you'll need to wait for the energy to fade before you can clean them.
While cleaning, you might get contaminated yourself. When affected by Murkflow, your energy drains faster. Head to a cleaning anemone in the canyon and let the current wash over you to rinse it off. You can also ask another D.G. Member to help.
